BARTER HOUSE
This is a community project born in Tulum, Mexico that was created with the intention to provide purified water to low-income, marginalized families. The water will be given in exchange for or as barter for organic waste, plastic PET bottles, or tetra pak containers.
The first will be located in the neighborhood 2 de octubre, where there is no plumbing or drainage and where homes are often built from metal sheets or cardboard.
For many of the people who live there (such as Doña Helena and Donato) it is difficult to meet the basic needs of life. This is why this project will be located directly in the neighborhood, making purified water the noble flow between the different forms of exchange.
Where trash is no longer trash, and instead receives a value; where water as a vital liquid is honored, cared for and respected; where social participation and cohesion are deemed essential for thriving in community.
Contribute to the solution of providing purified water to low-income families and germinate in them the seed of collaboration.
